David Harvey: VRML

The foundation of the Second Web - a simple graphic language modelling solids and lighting with facilities for movement, animation and interaction. Tools are becoming available to create and browse VRML worlds.

Fractal Landscape Generator

A Java application generating fractal landscapes. Extremely customisable - size, granularity, fractal dimensionality and more can be changed.

Enjoy the snapshot, or wander in the world itself. You can now download the source and class files for the landscape generator.

Rotor

Here's a rotor applet for generating rotational solids (using the VRML Extrusion geometry) from a cross-section. Great for vases, goblets, disks, circular walls...

All things VRML can now be found on the Web3D consortium site, which hosts the VRML Repository.
